If You're Happy and You Know It...

Sev's been doing this a lot lately...though not so much when you turn on the video camera. Thought you might enjoy it!

Spoiled? Surely you jest...

Since Jon and I have been sick, Sev has been bunking over at Mommaw and Poppy's. He is terribly unloved there, and never gets anything he wants. Like long rides in the stroller or ice cream sandwiches. Here's a quick peek at the mess one little boy can make...and a look at his attempt to keep the camera flash from hurting his eyes. Apparantly he figured out how to do that all on his own. See the red light? Okay, now SQUINT!!

Hi Little Man...

Here's a sweet shot of Seven underfoot in the kitchen as I bake eclairs. How can I resist such a cute little sous chef? In a few days we are off the Avon, NC for a week of fun and sun and maybe not so much time in the kitchen. I can't wait to see everyone!

I've been "tagged..."

So here goes. Thanks Meghan, I really didn't have anything to be doing anyway. (ha.)
Once you've been tagged you have to write a blog with 10 weird or random facts, habits or goals about yourself. At the end choose 10 people to be tagged, list their names and why you tagged them. Don't forget to leave them a comment saying 'You're It!' and to go read your blog. You cannot tag the person that tagged you so since you can't tag me back let me know when you are done so that I can go read YOUR blog...

1. I can say Hello and Thank You in Thai, Swahili, Italian, German, French and Spanish.
2. I am the opposite of ADHD. I can concentrate on ONE little thing for hours and hours.
3. While driving any decent distance, I am constantly doing some kind of math in my head, whether MPH, or how much money I have in the Bank, or how many hours/minutes until something is supposed to happen.
4. I like wearing an apron.
5. I don't like swimming in any natural body of water, unless I can see the bottom. I did enjoy backfloating in the Andaman Sea in Thailand, though - the water was crystal clear.
6. Along those same lines, if I have to go snorkelling, listen...you will be hearing me him the whole time. It freaks me out and I hate fish.
7. I know at least 7 words of practically every song every written.
8. I could watch 16 Candles or the Goonies every minute from now on and not getbored.
9. I have picked several vacation spots based on movies I have seen. For example, we went to Kenya after I fell in love with "Out of Africa" and Koh Phi Phi after watching "The Beach."
10. I never believed anyone when they said that being a stay-at-home mom was work. They really weren't kidding. But I love it, and one day maybe it will suit me. I'm working on it!

Okay - I am tagging:
Nicole - she has nothing better to do. (hee hee)
Rikki - maybe she has her computer back
Leslie - because she needs to forget about work
Jewels - because new Mommies need break, too
Catherine - because I want her to have something to do besides tke care of William
Jennifer - because I know she's on the computer but NOT keeping up with her blog
Rebecca - because there is life outside of the wedding (breathe, Becca!)
Jon - because he likes to type
Heather - because she nees to chill
Adam - because I miss him, too

TAG! You're It!

Um...Didn't Do It.

Ha. Looks like he's in trouble, huh? Well, he wasn't. Not right then, anyway. he is all over the place these days...his new favorite things to play with are anything with a cord, the vacuum, and Daddy's golf cleats. So he's a cheap date, at least for now.

Today Jon was home with us, and while I baked (and baked and baked) he took care of the lawn. Sev slept a lot, which was a welcome thing...and after dinner tonight he got his bath, courtesy of Daddy. As you can see, um, there was some kind of hair malfunction. I don't know, you tell me. But he surely did think it was funny.

Momma's Little Helper

Guess who was well behaved enough to let Momma bake a mess of Pumpkin Cupcakes today to surprise Daddy? Well, you guessed it. I hadn't put him in his playpen before, but he seemed content in there long enough to let me get everything done. So, here's a look at the little guy doing his best to stay sweet. Oh, and the cupcakes. Yum.

My First Mothers Day as a Mother...

I think Seven must have known that today was special - he let me sleep in! Seriously, he didn't wake up until around 9:30, and once he was up, he was sweet sweet sweet. I was able to take a long, hot bath, make some pies, and play on the computer! (this was also thanks to my dear husband, who made sure I was happy - he even made breakfast and cleaned the kitchen!)

We went to my aunts house for lunch and ended up sending Sev home with Mom and Dad, and spent the rest of the afternoon and evening being lazy and searching recipes for the upcoming week. Jon made a pile of ribs again, which were even better than last time, and believe it or not, the kitchen is already clean again!

Here are just a couple of pics of Seven in his bath from a couple of days ago, a look at him playing with Daddy's shoelaces, and a picture of the flower Rik brought me for Mothers Day. I hope everyone had as nice of one as I did.

A Cloudy Day at Home with Momma...

Well, I baked today and Seven played. Alot. I left him alone for a few minutes in his room only to find that in that short amount of time he was capable of derailing his zoo train, rocking his giraffe, figuring out how to open the DVD player and remove the DVD, and change the channel from SpongeBob to Cash Cab. Here he is in the act....crazy little thing.

Last night was fun, too. I was able to catch him in his "oh, this is too funny" mood...and actually got it on video. Then, as Jon and I went to bed, I glanced in and caught sweet baby curled up with Magoo the Monkey. He looked so cute we had to take a picture before putting him back to bed the right way.

What I am doing.

Well, for those of you who just can't belive it, I am documenting my sojourn into the world of cooking. I won't bore everyone who looks at this blog, Seven's Blog, with tons of foodie photos and recipes, but I do want to document and share my journey. Therefore, I have set up a new blog entitiled "She's Becoming DoughMessTic". Check it out sometime and let me know what you think! In the meantime, look at this Lemon Tart I made yesterday. Seriously! I had to show it to you!

So you wanna see the boy?

Okay, I know my past few blogs have been about my baking, and no pix of the little guy. Well, here you go. Today while I baked the BEST batch of cookies (well, best TWO batches) I have ever baked, Seven kept himself occupied with the dogs...and playing in his favorite place - under the coffee table. He gets a big kick out of crawling around under there for some reason.

After the cookies were out of the oven (did I mention best ever?) I took him for a walk in his stroller. We walked down to the store, over to Rite Aid, over to the Bank, and back up the (pant, pant) hill. Whew. I guess we could have kept going, but I am not feeling the greatest, so, here we are, back at home. One of us is sleeping, and the other is typing away, wishing she was napping, too.

Anyone got a suggestion for my next baking endeavor? I'm game...
